The purpose of the Resident Council is for the residents of the Big Rapids Housing Commission to share ideas with each other in an effort to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood and to work with the management on these ideas. The Resident Council meets once a month to discuss opportunities, and plan activities and events. Resident Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. in the Highrise Conference Room.

The Resident Council board members meet with the management periodically so that they may be involved in the budgeting process, the Capital Fund Program planning, and any other activity that may affect the conditions of the projects.
